Did AG ever use wigs with a black ribbon? I have an old Today doll that I bought from eBay, and this doll's wig is not like any I have seen before. All my other dolls have wigs with a nude-colored cap or netting (or whatever it's called). This doll has I guess what you would call a ribbon wig (I think I've heard that phrase used on here), and the ribbon is black. Just wondering if she is rewigged. It doesn't matter one way or the other (she's beautiful!!!), but I am curious about her hair. Thanks!!!

Anybody know the answer to this?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what exactly you mean, but I do know that on the darker haired dolls (Samantha, Josefina, Jess, etc) the wig cap has black string. I think for these dolls it's more to blend into the hair than into the scalp, as you don't really want to *see* the scalp, but with the lighter haired dolls, it makes more sense to see fake "scalp" than to see black strings all over the place.
If the doll doesn't have darker hair, it might not be original.
Hopefully someone can help you out a bit more.
